On Thursday, December 7th, 2017, I received an e-invite to attend the unveiling of the new Arla Dano Milk [chocolate and strawberry flavours], I was like…..
But on Friday, December 8, 2017, I arrived the venue, D-Venue Centre, Oniru, Lekki Lagos as a food journalist and discovered it was real…. Dano Milk celebrated some mums and children, infact distributors, the media and fun lovers were not left out.
It is interesting to note that Dano as a fast-moving milk brand, through the unveiling of Arla Dano has set its dairy footprint in the Flavored Milk Powder category with the launch of two variants of flavored milk powder into the Nigerian market.
This newly introduced Dano flavored milk powder comes in strawberry and chocolate flavors.
They were reportedly were launched following intense consumer research and increasing desire for a convenient as well as exciting Milk product, especially amongst children.
The Dano Strawberry and Choco Flavored Milk Powder are said to be rich in protein, carbohydrate, Vitamin D & other vital nutrients which are required for energy, vitality and a healthy growth.
The Managing Director, TG Arla Nigeria, Mr. Mads Burmester, while speaking at the event, revealed that the variants which are an extension of Dano filled milk powder offered in chocolate and strawberry flavours, are specially developed to meet the needs of discerning consumers who seek to enjoy the goodness of milk in more exciting ways.
His words “The Dano brand seeks to make eating simple and joyful for everyone, providing great tasting, nutritious, products which will form a foundation for a good life. Because Milk remains a very important nutrient-packed food, Dano wants to establish a rich milk drinking culture in Nigeria beyond breakfast occasion. To add excitement in the way we nourish the Nigerian families we are launching different flavours of our milk powder for consumers that would not compromise on taste, nutrition and a healthy way to start the day right. Driving this excitement will be our new flavoured milk variants -Choco and strawberry- which are great in taste, provide energy, protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals to keep our teeming consumers nourished all day long.”
In the same vein, speaking during a media interview, the Category Marketing Manager, TG Arla Nigeria Ifunanya Obiakor, noted that the newly introduced variant is a demonstration of Arla Foods expertise in the dairy space, stating that the essence is to serve and satisfy the craving for nourishing goodness by consumers.
She stressed that the end of year festivity affords a great opportunity to launch the products.
Her words “The launch of the Dano Strawberry and Choco Flavored Milk Powder is intended to drive excitement and relevance in the Milk Powder category hence our proposition of ‘exciting nourishment.’
She continued “With the launch of the two variants in this season of excitement, milk just got a little more exciting to some consumers. We know consumers have a taste for chocolate and strawberry flavours but we want them to experience the excitement of a nourishing flavored milk and in the spirit of the festivity, we have provided our teeming consumers great products to enjoy their beverages, milk shakes, smoothies and other milk-based delicacies in this season and beyond.” She said.
Obiakor explained further that the introduction of the flavored milk powder will no doubt entrench the Dano brand footprint in the packaged milk powder market as everyone and kids in particular now have reasons to redefine their taste for flavored milk and opt for the brand that offers them creamy and exciting nourishment.
Obiakor asserted that the variants are manufactured under strict hygienic conditions and are made using the Dano filled milk powder that consumers have enjoyed over the years.
Asked on how consumers would become aware of the newly introduced flavored milk powder, she stated that a series of communication activities riding on a ‘Milk Just Got Exciting’ theme campaign would be rolled out across all media channels.
She reiterated that the milk dissolves well in either hot or cold water and is great for adults and children who need the energy, excitement and nourishment that comes with a yummy cup either at breakfast or at any time of the day.
Meanwhile,the President of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Dr. Batholomew I.C. Brai. Dr. Brai who equally graced the ocassion, spoke on the role of the society.
He said the goal of the society is to promote good nutrition for a healthy nation while lauding Arla Dano for providing products that nourish consumers and provide the vital nutrients for healthy living.
