A 24–year- old unemployed Nigerian, Chibuzor Ebele, has been Friday arraigned before Magistrate Abiodun Etti of the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
The accused, Ebele, whose address was not disclosed in court ,was charged with stealing six cartons of Indomie Noodles valued at N7,800.00 and is the accused is facing a charge of stealing for this!
The prosecutor, Inspector. Innocent Uko, reportedly told the court that the accused had on Dec. 10 2015 at the Agents’ Complex, Seme Border, stole six cartons of Indomie Noodles from the shop of Margaret Adaha.
“The accused came to buy something from the complainant’s shop. When the owner of the shop went to look for other denominations to balance the accused for what he had paid for, the accused took six cartons of noodles from the complainant’s shop into his car and ran away.
“The accused was however apprehended before he could get away with the stolen items.
The magistrate, Mr Abiodun Etti, has granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000 and has asked the accused to produce two sureties whose tax payment should be verified. The magistrate also adjourned the case till Jan. 26, 2016 for further hearing.
