Production of Canned Catfish to Kick off In Nigeria!

National Secretary, Catfish Farmers Association of Nigeria (CAFAN) Chief Rotimi Onibale, has revealed that the association would soon start the production of canned catfish in Nigeria.

Onibale, who disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria  in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital,  said research was ongoing to ensure that Nigeria started its own production of canned fish.

30% Food Produce Wasted Annually In Nigeria

 

Duro Kuteyi, an agricultural expert has explained that over 30% of food produce in Nigeria is wasted to poor equipment and transportation.

Mr Kuteyi, speaking at an interactive session lamented that at least 30 percent of crops are wasted due to non-availability of processing facilities, adding that before food crops are moved from one part of the country to the other a lot of it would have been wasted.

While urging the federal government to re-examine the possibilities of processing agricultural products to save Nigerians from further wastes, adding it is the only way wastage can be eliminated.

Fuel Scarcity Cost Frozen-Food Traders Over N10 million

The fuel scarcity caused a lot of major companies to shutdown in the past week, as network providers like MTN, Glo and radio stations in Beatfm all had to stay offline for hours of the day.

However it seems the biggest loosers from the scarcity are Frozen food traders in Ijora-Olopa, Lagos, who lost over N10 million worth of food items between May 23 and May 25 blackout.
