The fuel scarcity caused a lot of major companies to shutdown in the past week, as network providers like MTN, Glo and radio stations in Beatfm all had to stay offline for hours of the day.
However it seems the biggest loosers from the scarcity are Frozen food traders in Ijora-Olopa, Lagos, who lost over N10 million worth of food items between May 23 and May 25 blackout.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC has reportedly sealed Chocolate Royale over what it described as “unethical practices” and non-adherent to Good Manufacturing and Hygienic Practices.
The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has said it would soon clampdown on factories of edible food in the country whose products failed the micro-nutrient fortification compliance test.
Speaking during the agency’s visit to markets in Makurdi, Benue State, Coordinator of NAFDAC in the state, Anikoh Ibrahim said that micronutrient fortification compliance in sugar, flour, salt and vegetable oil products sold in the markets was a necessary requirement.
