Food consumers in Nigeria warned against products that contain preservatives!

In Nigeria, food consumers, especially fruits, have been warned against the consumption of products that contain preservatives which are usually used to keep  the items fresh.

This is according to Denna Rossi Limited,  manufacturers of healthy products, fruits, soft drinks and water that are quality assured to the Nigerian market to the best of international standards with the health consciousness of consumers at heart which overall purpose is to enhance family health care.

The firm gave this warning while unveiling five new products: Ivana fruit juice, Shappe fruit drink, Polar water, Adelisa wine and Ibiza cocktail, which were just introduced into the Nigerian market.

 This was done through the  Head of Marketing/Corporate Services,  Ifeanyi Nihe  in  a statement.

Through the statement, it was revealed that  although there are different types of food preservatives, antimicrobials and antioxidants are some of the most common materials used to slow the natural ripening process of products.

 

It noted that despite their important functions, preservatives can pose a number of serious health risks, which include increased risk of cancer, hyperactivity in children and reduced heart health,”

It further  stressed that the health of the people were important and had a direct link with the economy of the society, adding that only those with stable and sound health can contribute meaningfully to the growth of the society.

Denna Rossi products  come with more attractive packs designed to give more impact and to focus more on brand elements.

For the Ivana fruit juice, the company said the product came in seven flavours: – orange, mango, apple, apple pear, exotic, pineapple coconut and pineapple red grape fruit.
