The food crisis in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno state is said to be probably the worst in the world at the moment, with 4.5 million people in need of assistance, out of which one million are in danger of extreme malnutrition.
This is according to Unicef.
The Unicef’s chief of nutrition in Nigeria, Arjan de Wagt, in an interview in the capital, Abuja declared that “We haven’t found the right words yet to describe the magnitude of the problem,” said “I’ve checked with my colleagues in New York and they’re not aware of anywhere around the world where people are in this kind of situation.”
Although aid workers are doing their best yet the news is still not palatable .God have mercy!
