Guaranty Trust Bank is organising its first annual Food & Drink weekend in the month of May 2016.
The 2-day food exhibition and sales event which aims to project the diverse angles of the food industry by connecting various businesses involved in the production and sale of food related items to a cosmopolitan audience of food enthusiasts will kick off on Sunday May 1 2016 and climax on Monday May 2, 2016.
At the food and drink fair there will be a wide variety of food exhibitors showcasing and selling food products ranging from fresh organic groceries to dry foods, confectionary and pastries, ready to eat consumables, top quality crockery and wine & champagnes.

In addition to the exhibition, the GTBank Food & Drink event will also offer culinary experiences such as food and wine tastings, cooking master classes with renowned International and Nigerian chefs, and world class entertainment from A-List celebrities and musical talents.
The food and drink fair, which is free to attend, will provide a platform for SMEs in the Nigerian food industry to promote their businesses by showcasing a wide variety of their products ranging from fresh organic groceries to dry foods, confectionary and pastries, ready to eat consumables, top quality crockery and wine & champagnes.
The fair will also feature a series of Cooking Master Classes covering the latest culinary trends, and a diverse range of restaurants offering mouth-watering dishes, outdoor grills and thrilling entertainment.
The Cooking Master Classes will be headlined by international chefs and accompanied by Tiyan Alile, who is the President of the Culinary Arts Practitioners Association in Nigeria and the founder of the Culinary Academy.
several other top rated chefs who will also host master classes include;Gbubemi Fregene, Ozoz Sukoh, Alex Oke, Atim Ukoh , Iquo Ukoh, Michael Elegbede and Uzo Orimalade.
The chefs will demonstrate before a live audience how to apply modern twists to classic Nigerian cuisine as well as prepare some of the most amazing international cuisines.
Attendees of the cooking classes will also be treated to savoury food and wine tastings as well as enthralling celebrity chef face-offs including one by popular mother and daughter chefs, Iquo and Atim Ukoh.
There will also be a dedicated play area for children and Chef Uzo Orimalade will host the “I can bake” MasterClass series for the children.

Armed with a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America and haven worked in the critically acclaimed Eleven Madison Parkrestaurant. Elegbede is on a mission to rediscover and tell the story of Nigeria’s food culture with his personal touch focusing on the unique flavours, ingredients and cooking traditions of Nigeria.
Popularly known as Afrolems, Ukoh is an African food blogger with a specialization in Nigerian Food. Atim’s main focus is to stylize African food so it can be internationalised. She aims to educate her followers with kitchen tips, cooking know-hows and interesting recipes from all over Africa and modifications of recipes from other cultures.
