IVORY COAST: USTDA finances cocoa pod-biomass plant | Afrik 21

Ivory Coast is known for  production of million tons of cocoa beans and these beans have traveled to different parts of the world to become chocolates, brownies, coco powder, desserts, smoothies, chocolate bread, chocolate and so many others.

Reports say the country is expected to produce 2.15 million tons in 2020/2021.

The leading cocoa-producing is of course the world’s largest producer of cocoa, and this country has reportedly found an inventive use for the cocoa plant that could power millions of homes.

The coveted cocoa bean is said to be just one small part of the cocoa plant and I love the BBC report that showcased extensively , all that Ivory Coast stands for in terms of cocoa..

While the beans are exported to be made into chocolate bars, confectionery and drinks, the bean shells, pod husks and cocoa sweatings (a pale yellowish liquid that drains away during fermentation) are usually thrown away. World.
