Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci dethroned as GWR holder for longest cooking marathon

Nigerian Chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has been officially dethroned from her position as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

The new record holder is Irish Chef Alan Fisher.

He owns a restaurant in Japan.

Fisher’s initial record is for the “longest cooking marathon (individual),” during which he achieved an impressive time of 119 hours and 57 minutes.

This has however surpassed the previous record held by Baci by over 24 hours.

Bassey cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019.

Bassey initially aimed for 100 hours, but she was penalized for an error in her scheduled rest breaks. Despite this, Bassey expressed her joy and gratitude, mentioning that her hard work had paid off and dedicated the achievement to her team.
